We sell the appliances the big-box stores can no longer call new.

Home Depot and Lowe's both run a 48-hour return policy. A refrigerator goes out on a Tuesday and comes back on a Wednesday because it was the wrong width, or the wrong finish, or because somebody changed their mind. Nothing is wrong with it — but it has been sold once, so it can never be sold as new again.

That is what fills our two Sacramento floors, along with units carrying cosmetic damage from handling. We get our items directly from the LG outlet and from LG authorized dealers, which is why the floor runs mostly LG, with Samsung alongside. We are also the primary distributor of TopAir range hoods and an authorized GE as-is dealer.

What "scratch and dent" actually means

All scratch and dent appliances will have various cosmetic scratches and dents — a scuff on a side panel, a dinged corner, a mark on a door. Most of it ends up against a cabinet or a wall where nobody sees it. What does not change is the machine inside: every appliance is tested and is in good working condition, and cosmetic defects do not affect performance.

Each appliance is sold as-is and without the manufacturer warranty. That is the trade-off that makes the price possible, and it is why we include our own coverage instead.
